WE MADE IT!!! 5th April, 2008, 1.30pm

After an absolutely exhausting 14 days and several pounds lighter, we are back in Kathmandu!! We had a fantastic time with our guide Laxman, porter Pradip and new found friend Phillip. We trekked the route Lukla-Base Camp and returned on the slightly shorter than planned route through Pangboche. We had pretty much everytghing thrown at us - snow blizzards, extreme cold, sun burn, strepsil addiction, sleep deprivation, altitude, attitude(!), fatigue, garlic soup, flatulence(!) and an extremely emotional Caroline at Base Camp! BUT WE DID IT and we are all over the moon!

We definitely think we might give the altitude a break for a while after suffering from some never before encountered symptoms! Basically it involved waking up with very swollen faces and huge 'trout pout' lips! Enough to put anyone off collogen! Thankfully, its gone now and photos are available by request only!

Its been an amazing experience and we have met a fantastic new friend in Phillip and 'his bag' - honestly, what this boy doesn't travel with isn't worth having! There were times when it hurt and we really had had enough (imagine 2 showers in 14 days!) but there were far more tears of joy and we made the best team ever! Just check out our 'r and b style' guides dancing at base camp!!! Its been our biggest achievement yet and we feel like we can take on anything!! BRING IT ON!!!!!
