After 24 hours, 3 flights, 4 countries and 4 capital cities we arrived in crazy Bangkok! And back to civilisation after India and Nepal!
There wasn't much here that can be classed as cultural but we did enjoy lots of Thai green curry and Phad Thai! We made a visit to Jim Thompson's house which is a beautiful traditional Thai house. JT was famous for exporting Thai silk in the 1950's and 60's and became a well loved local businessman in Bangkok. He mysteriously disapeared in the Malaysian jungle with no trace of him ever to be found. We suspected foul play! Anyway, you can look around his house and gardens and they were very beautiful.
The only other EXTREMELY exciting visits were to Boots and wait for it........ TESCO! Yes, they do exist in Bangkok! It was such a treat looking at all the lovely toiletries, then leaving the shop without a purchase as we couldn't afford it!
