Last night was horrendous winds and we could feel the van rocking. Woke up this morning to high winds but glorious sunshine and climbed the Hooker Valley track. This was a three hour walk. We managed it in 2 1/2 hours. Beautiful scenery along the way. Chris had to walk across six suspension bridges in total which was pretty harrowing for him. At the very top, you will see pictures shortly of the beautiful lakes with icebergs on set against a wonderful mountainous background with snow and also the greenery surrounding it. It is such an amazing view. We continued our journey towards Lake Tekapo stopping at a Lavender Park en route. The campsite at Lake Tekapo had an horrendous amount of flies. Very offputting. However, very late evening we were collected to go on a stargazing/hot spring pool night at the Aoraki Mackenzie Inernational dark sky reserve. . Lovely evening although I don't think personally I could keep up with the amount of information about the stars. The pools were lovely 38 degrees lying in a hammock for an hour.
