Arrived late aprox 8.00 pm on 15th. Long journey, nice hotel and free upgrade to wonderful top floor suite room 13. First full day in Christchurch. Up early, had lovely breakfast and took the City Tram tour hop on and off. Went on the Gondola up the mountain for beautiful views (look at photos) The picture by the water has not been fitered or changed in any way it really was that blue. Then off to the Earthquake museum. Very sad to see the devastation. We heard and saw live interviews with survivors and people who had lost loved ones. It is amazing how much they have rebult since 2011 when so many were killed. At this time Karl and Lisa had just missed this Quake on their travels. Lots of areas yet to be reconstructed. We also stopped off at the world Buskers festival. Great fun and as usual ended up being part of a show (well more Chris than I) Ended the day with a lovely evening meal and drinks next to our hotel in a hotel bar 1920's style. Great fun.
