We were late rising after our late night - it was well after midnight when we got to bed. Still no chance to watch a DVDs or play Rummicub! After the usual morning choirs we headed into Duneden for a quick look round before shopping and fuelling up for our journey into Fiordland. Back onto Highway 1 through lovely countryside of green rolling hills with lots more sheep evident. The sun was shining on us again and temperature was 22 degrees. We had a veery short stop for lunch but because of our late start we had to keep moving if we were to reach our destination at a reasonable time. We headed on through Balcutta, Gore and Mandeville where we had snow top mountains on three sides. Eventually after some 4 hours travelling, with a driver change, we arrived at Te Anau and were rewarded with glorious views across the lake in bright sunshine. We hope it continues tomorrow as we have booked a full day trip to Doubtful Sound. After a walk along the lake, it's so warm, it was back to our site which we are booked into for 2 nights to cook supper.
