Breakfast on the plane and Arrived at Auckland Airport at 11.30 where it was absolutely pouring with rain. We had to have our walking shoes cleaned at security so we had to unpack our case and was another hour before we finally got out of the airport. Met by super shuttle bus which took us to the Heritage Hotel In the centre of Auckland. The Sky Tower which was close to the hotel was not visible when we arrived, but when we woke up from our snooze having had little sleep the previous night, the sun was shining. We decided that we should go up the tower whilst conditions were good and went to observation decks on floors 51 and 60. During the time we were up there it went dark and so we were able to see the city and surrounding area with their lights on. It was quite amazing!!!!!! Once we were down we headed to the Marina and with some difficulty found Badduzi and Italian restaurant that was recommended by our hotel for a very pleasant meal.
