Picked up our rental car from Houston airport and started the journey to New Orleans.
Chris started out the driving and had lots of fun on the right side of the road which is now the correct side of the road lol. It seems easier to get used to driving on the wrong side rather than which side the handbrake and indicators are on lol. So far were one all on the Window wipers!!
We stayed at a lovely Airbnb place in Convington and drove across the longest bridge I have ever seen to get to New Orleans! It was 23.8miles long!!!
New Orleans is an amazing little place full of culture and life!! It's like being on Courtney place after the 7's have finished but everyone can drink on the streets. Complete opposite of Houston. It's crazy, the streets have rubbish everywhere, it smells funky and people are smashed but it's all part of the amazing atmosphere. We went to the French Quarter for dinner - Pady O'Brien's (recommended by a friend) and tried gumbo, then wandered around the city until we found Cafe Du Monde to try some Beignets (icing sugar covered donuts).
