April 2nd (Thursday) - Day 33 - Ko Samui
We were woken at 2am for a rest stop and went back to sleep. We arrived at the Catameran port at 5am and had 2 hours to wait. The boat took 3.5 hours and we got to our connection to our hotel. We didnt realize it when we booked but our hotel was in the middle of no where. It didnt help that the weather was overcast and not beach weather. Never the less we walked down into town via some famous rocks but I still don't know why they were famous. We sat on the beach for a bit and then went for a cocktail as the price was cheap cheap. I was shocked to find that 8 year olds were running the place!! We went for dinner. The garlic bread I had made my breath smell for days it was so strong! We then took the long walk back to the hotel.

April 3rd (Friday) - Day 34 - Ko Samui
Woke up to beautiful sunshine. Went out by the pool and the owner offered us a lift to town. He dropped us off at the beach. It was everything I had expected. Really hot, really sunny. Within 10 minutes I could see it raining in the distance and within 5 minutes it was tipping it down! We ran to the nearest bar and got a drink and some lunch. It still had not stopped when we had finished. Then the wind picked up and the rain was coming sideways through the bar despite the covers being down. It then started thundering. It was so close that the static in the air actually hurt my face and arms. The power went out for the whole town shortly afterwards. The roads turned into rivers. We rode it out by playing pool. Once it stopped we walked into town planning to get on the internet but the power was off. So we walked for about an hour until the power returned. We went back to book a place to stay on Ko Phangan the following day but could not find anything. We'd have to wing it. We went for a few drinks and the rain came back along with more power cuts. We found a bar doing free food so made that our dinner. We waited for a break in the weather and started to walk back. It started to pour again so jumped in a taxi. The driver ripped me off. When we got back to the hotel the power was off and the room was way to hot. We went and sat outside and were swamped by bugs so went back to the room. Luckily the power came back on 10 minutes and so did the AC :)
