April 4th (Saturday) - Day 35 - Ko Samui To Ko Phangan
Woke up and it was overcast but dry. As soon as we went to leave it started to rain. We got our rip off taxi to town and waited for the bus. It took an hour to reach the ferry port where it was still raining. We boarded the ferry (i mean boat) and sailed across. It took about 45 minutes and it was still raining when we reached the other side. We jumped in the nearest cafe we could find and had a soft drink. I then set off to find somewhere to stay. I skipped a few places as they looked to posh and then followed some English guys into a nice looking place. The place was nice and I managed to get the lady down to 500 baht (10 quid). I went back to grab Sarah so I could show her the place. It passed lol. It was almost like a garden shed but was really nice inside and had everything we needed and as a bonus it had AC! We went for a wander around and grabbed some lunch. We found the main party beach so we had to stay. (it had dried up by this time). The waves were mad. At times it was lifting me 10 foot. I stayed in for ages as it was really warm but it started to hurt after a while. The previous day I had discovered Chang beer. Every bottle is at least 6.4% and a big bottle is cheaper than a small bottle of anything else. I had a few of these and lets put it mildly, I was a little tipsy by 7pm. We had dinner on the beach right by the sea. The stars where out and it was amazing. After dinner we saw a flame throwers act and watched them for a while.
April 5th (Sunday) - Day 36 - Ko Phangan
After a much needed lay in we headed for the beach on the west side of the island right behind our shed. It was deserted and we had a picnic. It got really hot so decided to head for the main beach. We'd been there 20 minutes and the heavens opened. I have never seen so many people move so quickly. We headed for the nearest place with cover (shock horror it was a bar) and we managed to get the last seat. The rain stopped after 20 minutes and we headed out again. We stayed for a few hours and headed back home to get changed. We went to a bar with a balcony to watch the sun set. It was a sleezy little place and the Thai bar men were hitting on all the western girls with cheesy chat up lines. We then went back to the beach cafe from the night before for dinner as it was so nice!
