We made our last ever train journey in Italy today and made it all the way to Venice! It was a shame to leave Milan, the shopping capital of the world but we have come to a better place- Venice!
It took about 3 and a half hours on a hot train full of kids to get here but it was well worth it!
We came into Venice on the train over a long bridge and with my head sticking out of the window could smell the sea air! The first thing we had to do was spend €22 on a bus pass! We're staying at an island south of Venice (where its a bit cheaper!) so we have to get the water bus to and from the main Island of Venice. You would hate it, mam, too many boats!
We got off the waterbus on our island and got a little bit lost! Infact we ended up miles away from the hotel!! Eventually when we got to the hotel we got ourselves sorted and went for tea. I had another carbonara! Which was lovely! Then we got the water bus to Venice and had a wonder around- in the dark!
Venice is a gorgeous place! From what I'd heard it was really expensive and very touristy! It's not really, it can be as expensive as you want it to be and its not crammed with tourists!
Anyway I better wrap this up as we only have 30 mins of free wifi in a bar where I've just bought a bottle of water! I'll have more tomorrow!
Bye! xxxx
