We checked out of the chocolate after a very chocolately breakfast abd making the most of the free chocolate treats! I had to split up my chocolate breakfast with something savoury- my little brother's favourite meal- cheese and crackers!
We bought a few presents from the chocolate shop in the hotel and made our way to the train station. I have been collecting keyrings from every location we've been to, but there was not one souvenir shop! We ended up in a chinese supermarket and I bought a wooden keyring in the shape of a sun! Perugia definately isn't a touristy place!
We got to the train station and looked at our purchases from the chocolate shop, only to find one of the things (I won't tell you what for the person that gets it!) was produced in the UK! Only I could buy a holiday gift that was produced in the country I'm taking it to!
Anyway, we got on the train and our journey went without a hitch. We arrived in a very hot Bologna and went straight to the hotel to get rid of our bags- they're getting very heavy now! We got to the hotel and found we had a TV in the room, so after 3 weeks without one we put it on to find a kids tv channel! So we watched Peppa Pig (I thought ut should be Peppa Proscuitto!) and 3rd & Bird in italian! We searched for our favourite musoc channel, RTL102.5, which is played in all the bars here! Every time we see it on there is always 1 of 3 songs on! It really winds Shaun up and its getting quite funny now!
After a little break in the hotel (its not as good as the last one but decent!) we got a map of Bologna and went exploring! (just call me Dora!)
The city centre is quite compact and there are the two famous towers- one of which leans! Shaun's comment on Bologna- "It's alreet! It has a massive leaning tower which gets no credit!" Anyway! yeah! We explored a bit of Bologna which is full if designer shops or food shops! We tried to find a restaurant for tea, but most of them don't open until late so we ended up at a bar which did a free buffet when you buy a drink. (they will probably realise their error and stop doing it after Shaun had been!) We had a good few plates of pasta and nibbles with our cocktail, only costing €7! After filling our boots with free food went we for a gelatto, I don't know if I told you that Italy does the best ice cream! Oh and theres no such thing as Neopolitan ice cream here, just every other flavour under tge sun!
We came back to the hotel after trekking around Bologna and found our favourite music channel- RTL102.5, and we've been glued since! We know all the jingles now! Drinking our bottle of Martini Asti (it's cheaper here than in the UK!) we're enjoying the air con and free wifi! Luxuries!
I think we're off to the Lambourgini museum tomorrow!! I'm more excited about it than I was for the vatican!
Anyway, I must go to sleep soon, I'll be back tomorrow! Good night! x
