Today was the first proper day of our tour that goes down through Thailand through Malaysia to Singapore. There are 18 of us in our group which consists of a married Canadian couple, an older single woman, Alice (fellow Essex girl), Jane and Hetty (sisters), The Irish boys (Matt and Chris), The Weymouth boys (Chris, Andy and Jack), The Scousers (Tim and Mike), Kiwi Andy and finally Ian and James. All really nice people thank god! Today we have been to kanchanaburi and the bridge over the river kwai - its a film apparently. It is called the death railway as they used prisoners of war to build it during world war 2 and loads of them died. Saw the museum and cemetary. Quite sad - and it was becky's birthday! Had lunch in a restaurant made from bamboo overlooking the river - really pretty! Got the overnight train from just outside Bangkok down to Krabi
