Well, we're now in Chiang Mai! It's a city in Northern Thailand. We got an overnight train from Bangkok on Thursday and arrived in Chiang Mai early Friday morning. We had our own little cabin with bunk beds and a little sink. I slept surprisingly well. Journey took just over 13 hours but went quite quickly. Got picked from the train station by the guesthouse we are staying in and rode in the back of a pick up. Got taken to the tour booking service first where we arranged our trek (tomorrow). Going elephant riding, bamboo rafting, visiting hill tribes and going to a waterfall. Yesterday we got rather lost around the back streets of Chiang Mai so decided to go back to the guesthouse!! We managed to find our way to the Chiang Mai Night Bazaar a bit later on where there are hundreds of stalls lining the streets - want to buy everything!! Having to be a bit careful though cos we've got to carry it! Had some Thai noodles - weren't spicy this time so managed to eat them! Today we have been walking all around the city and been to a few temples. Going to the Night Bazaar again tonight! It's a much more bearable temperature here and there's a bit of a breeze so its much nicer to walk around than Bangkok!
