Neil's Round the World Trip!
I slept for a little and then headed into the city around 1pm and sat in the park and basked in the sun. I went to the Museum of Immigration, about all the immigrants that have come to Melbourne over the years. There was a Scottish section, they had kilts of immigrants and old belongings etc. Melbourne received 60,000 Scottish immigrants every year from 1860-1920. No wonder Jack needs fresh talent most of it left a hundred years ago!
I then sat in Federation Square, a big futuristic meeting place for the city's citizens. I had a smoothie and then as the rain appeared I took shelter in an internet cafe where I was able to update you (as requested!).
I went to the Centre for Moving Image and watched a depressing short film about someone who was coping with being disabled.
Later I walked around the main city streets such as Flinders St. I caught a tram back to my hostel and then just chilled out, got my washing done finally; I must have reeked!
I spoke to a few guys in my dorm and then got an early night at say 1am.There was a guy in the bunk next to mine who was from Blackburn and was obsessed with Terry Pratchett fantasy books he kept urging me to read them and it's just complete trash! Another one of the guys was an Aussie soldier on leave, the guy from Blackburn asked where he was from. The Aussie guy replied "Newcastle". So then the English guy says "Really, you don't have much of a Geordie accent". He honestly thought there was only one Newcastle and that was the English one and he's a teacher...oh dear!
