Hey guys,

So chiang Mai is horizontal. I'm not sure I like it. But I may be stuck with it for a while longer. There's a monsoon floating around the mountains around chiang mai so the roads are flooded and the rivers swollen. the plan was to head out to Laos by monday but the boats arent leaving on the rapid river and the buses are having a situation too. i cant afford to fly this, not if i need to fly from vientiane to Hanoi in 2weeks.

Good news though, steven is here, met him at a random bar last night in the middle of a crowd. it's pretty awesome to see a friendly face although he said to me that he would text me in the morning and we could go to the temples today together since i will get lost but he must have had one too many and got in very late like Paul my new room mate, who arrived stumbling in at 6am this morn.I will text him later and get his arse out of bed.

Chiang Mai is pretty small, the city doesnt take long to walk around or out of, i visited the river outside with two dutch girls yesterday and it wasgreat, we found a great shady spot and sat by the river for ages just chatting. it's great to pick the weirdest looking streets and have a wander, we've found some great little markets and cafe's.

I can only say that this place makes me feel itchy. there is not much to do, it's a relaxing stop off point. I'm not sure i can stand it much longer. it makes me feel horrid. this place is not for me.
