We left Katoomba to head back to Sydney and stopped a few times on the way before arriving in Glebe. We dropped off our bags at the hostel and went into town (after trying to find a petrol station which was harder than you'd think) to return the hire car. We had a walk around Victoria park and went to the ANZAC memorial before going back to Kings Wharf for a drink. We then got the tram back to Glebe, it was so weird being back there after 14 years - it was the same hostel we'd stayed in all that time ago and we swore it was the same room! We headed on the main road before stumbling upon our favourite pub - what memories. After a few drinks and lots of reminiscing we went out for a lovely meal - vietnamese - we stumbled back to the hostel.
The following day we had a bit of a late start (just can't cope with hangovers anymore!) and walked to the Sydney Fish Market. It's not much to look at from the outside but inside there is a huge range of fresh fish to buy and small restaurants. It had such an amazing atmosphere, it was really buzzing but as we weren't up to eating anything we carried on into town and went up the Sydney Tower. It had clouded over a bit but the views were still fab. Feeling a bit brighter we went to the David Jones food hall (although we were supprised they didn't throw us out for drooloing over all the food) for lunch - hot gammon roll with rocket and onions - yummy!
We then went to the station to book our tickets on the coach to Canberra before getting the tram back to Glebe. We had a lovely takeaway pizza and then went out to the pub to watch the State of Origin rugby which NSW won which made for a great evening! Not too late to bed tonight as we head to Canberra tomorrow.
