M & M Travels
Today after waking up and deciding to travel to the beach in Agia Pelagia, our detour started at Koules, the Venetian Fort in Heraklion, Crete. We then traveled south through Heraklion, navigating our way up very narrow winding streets to the Palace of Knossos. Built around 1900 BC, (22,000 sq. m). Most representative relic of the Minoan civilization. The Miotaur was a creature with the head of a bull and the body of a man. He lived at the center of the Cretan Labyrinth, built for King Minos of Crete and designed by the architect Daedalus and his son Icarus who were ordered to build it to hold the Minotaur. The Minotaur was eventually killed by the Athenian hero Theseus.
