Another great night's sleep but it did seem a bit colder this morning and we were woken by the neighbours discussing the need for beanies! We stayed in bed as long as possible and only got up when it was safe to start the generator for a coffee. After breakfast the kids did a great job of collecting firewood while we cleaned up and then we spent the morning doing schoolwork. We all had a lovely sleep in until 830am - it must be the peace and quiet here! Another beautiful day with blue skies so I decided to scoot straight into town and join the queue for the launderette. There are only three washing machines in town and the town had a power cut yesterday so spent most of the day closed. One lady here has been waiting three days for a free machine so I was expecting to join a queue of thousands especially as the place is only open...

Nick woke once in the night hearing something big outside moving around but the rest of us slept well and woke up around 8am. We woke up around 7am having had a much better night's sleep - the generator going all night from the van next door drowned out the geese and the roosters!! We had a fairly restless night's sleep due to geese on the oval making a shocking racket at intervals throughout the night. A couple of roosters joined the party around 430am and once we were woken it took a while to get back to sleep as it was absolutely freezing.
