Woke up early this morning as Anna had climbed into bed with us around 430am after a nightmare where two worms were chasing her and biting her toes! It seemed cooler this morning and so after breakfast we headed North to explore Edith Falls. We took the Leliyn Track, a 2.6km loop walk that climbed up a steep hill initially and took us to the Upper Pool. The kids were not keen after walking Katherine Gorge but once we reached the pool they were very happy. The water looked very inviting and there were only a few people sunbathing around the rocks. We sat for a while and then continued along the trail heading down to the Plunge Pool, stopping off for a photo shoot at the Bemang Lookout. Once we'd made it to the bottom we had a much-needed ice cream at the kiosk and then got changed into bathers for a dip in the plunge Pool. The boys ran ahead eager to jump in but soon came running back screaming 'snake'! A Golden Tree snake was slowly making it's way up the steps that led down to the water! We had to wait until it had made its way to a tree before we could jump in and it was soon forgotten when the kids saw all the fish in the water - luckily no crocs! We came home for lunch and stopped off on the way at Low Level Nature Reserve, another swimming spot in Katherine. There were a couple of people taking photos there but no one swimming - perhaps because the Katherine Royal Show is on at the mo?? After lunch we spent the afternoon around the pool but I came back early with the boys, as they were both cold and wanted a hot shower - no body fat compared to the girls!! After dinner, all the kids played spotlight around the caravan park and were dragged in to bed once it was time to give the other residents a break!
