We didn't wake up until 8am this morning but the kids helped pack up the caravan and so it didn't take long for us to hit the road. It took us about three and a half hours to drive to Darwin as we hit several sets of road works and got stuck behind some enormous road trains. We found the caravan park easily and were given a great site next to the camp kitchen, pool and jumping pillow. It's a Big 4 park and reviews were mixed on the Internet but so far so good for us. We made the kids some lunch and then while they played on the jumping pillow and I cleaned the van, Nick went off to buy dinner. By the time he came home we were all sweltering and needed a swim. We spent the rest of the afternoon by the pool and then while we cooked dinner the kids played on the jumping pillow with all the other kids in the park - there are plenty!! They wolfed down dinner so that they could go straight back out again. At 7pm the park put on a $2 sausage sizzle and some live entertainment - a singer with his guitar! It was amplified around the park and no chance of the kids getting any sleep so we let them play until 9pm. At that point the singer promised he was on his last number although I'm sure he played Hotel California another 5 times after that!!
