Paris to London
This morning we awoke to a grey but dry Parisian morning. After packing up we took A brisk walk to the Gard de Nord train station for our 10.08 departure. Long queues at both security and passport control meant that we reached the platform with 5 minutes to spare. Even before we managed to put our bums on the seat the train was departing. My dear husband informed me that we had plenty of time. This gave me little comfort given that he is use to making trains and planes by seconds. The Eurostar train ride was quick, comfortable and definitely beat the 9 hour option of the ferry and trains.
We jostled around the London tube with loads of other people. I thought Sunday was meant to be quiet. After 3 tubes rides we arrived to west Hampstead and walked to our accommodation.
The London apartment is much better than the Parisian one. Paris was unique with a great location, and great internet but the foot and car traffic was loud and continuous and the boys thought that a train was going to come through their tunnel of a bedroom.
An afternoon play in the local playground was good for the boys. A shop on high street for the essentials and dinner at home.
