Today we headed to the Natural History Museum and the Tower of London. It was really good inside the museum. There were different sections of the museum and we decided to go to the dinosaur exhibition first. It turned out to be a really good decision because there were plenty of interactive things to do. There were models of dinosaurs and some of them even moved about. We learned some interesting facts about these amazing creatures before moving on to the biology section. We learned how a baby was born and how it grew inside the mother.
There were some freakish mirrors, which made you small, tiny, bigheaded and even double necked. We did some mind bending activities before over to the earth zone. We travelled up an escalator and went through a model of the earth. We walked around the red zone and read about certain natural disasters, tectonic plates and, did I mention disasters. We finished up at a café and Harry, Mum and I enjoyed 2 Fanta's and A Café Latte. We then hunted around for James and Ben, which took about 15 minutes. Ben then took his time and bought a book all about science. (Classic)
We headed back to the subway and caught a train to the Tower of London. When we got there we went over to the ticket stall and bought out tickets into the towers. Our tickets were checked before we were allowed into the tower itself. We stood to the side for a minute and decided where we should go. We split up and I went with Harry to have a look at the Torture methods. There was only a couple but I sill felt faint just looking at them. Harry insisted we keep moving even though the facts were worth reading. After we went (skipped) through the Bloody Tower we went over to the main steps and looked at the map. We decided to go through the main gate and go along the battlements but when we had just arrived Harry wanted to go to the toilet. We bumped into Mum and James just as we were about to leave so the three of them sat down while I looked at the smallest tower in the complex. There was some good information and I recommended it to Mum who eventually took a look. We then returned to our original groups and we went in different directions. They went to the White Chapel while we looked at the Funicaire Museum. We decided to go to the chapel after a quick stop at the museum. We caught up with Dad and he took us into the chapel. There was plenty to see and do so we were never empty handed. We met up with Mum and James and we all toured the museum. There were some fun interactive activities and we were a bit disappointed when it came to an end. We saw lots of different sets of armour and there were plenty of horses too. Finally we saw the cannonballs and weapons store. We came out into the air again and we all went into the Crown Jewels but somehow we got separated. Ben had not been seen since the start of the Tower.
After a couple of hours we left the Tower of London and caught a bus 15 into Piccadilly Circus. At the termination of the bus we all ran into Hamleys Toy Store on Regent Street. The store covered 6 floors and had been operating for 250 years. I was in Heaven, but soon I returned back to earth when mum said NO to my many requests. Dad provided no comfort because he just said: "Talk to your mother." Harry was difficult to get out of the toy store after befriending most of the staff and succeeding in getting the staff to give him a free lollies. Search parties proved problematic, because they tended not to return. However, mum and dad felt no anxiety as they were confident that we had not left the store. Sadly, we walked out of the toy store empty handed and headed home to our apartment on bus 139 to Hampstead.
