Swiss National Day! Everything was closed again and Bern's celebrations were no where to be found. Apparently in a stadium just out of town. Was lots of decoration in the town tho, good to see so much pride in their nation. Had a bit of a lie in and got up slowly. Was horrified to realise it had been two weeks since shaving my legs, even i shouldn't go that long! Felt a lot more human after my shower. Headed up the Rosengarten as was meant to be beautiful. Up big hill but very nice once up there. Not a huge place but lots of different types of roses. Were just past their prime however but still worth the trip. Also got a great view over looking Bern. Headed down the hill a different way and headed into town again. Water here amazing colour, bright blue almost looks unnatural. so clear as well, can see really deep into the water. Took more of a windy route into town today and found some cool buildings. Found the parliament building and saw lots of kids playing in the spurty fountains. Watched them for a while, got lunch at the train station again. Headed back to the hostel again in a windy way. Very beautiful town but not much to do. Came back to the hostel and watched some tv for a couple of hours. Bus arrived about 5 and boarded it to go back to Lauterbrunnen. Arrived about 6 and checked into chalet, not a shed this time! Got some dinner with Alicia at the campsite restaurant and headed back to the room. Read my book until the fireworks started (for national day). Really good display but the noise was unbelievable. The campsite is in a mountain valley so the sounds bounced off the walls. Sounded like the middle of a war zone. Also with all the other fireworks over the mountain looked like footage of the blitz where cities were on fire. Obviously very glad they were all fireworks. Came back to bed after they'd finished and went to sleep.
