Tried to have a sleep in but really noisy bathroom door kept waking me up. Admitted defeat and went down to breakfast (free!). Got up and went to the nearest metro station and got the train to Parc Guell, Gaudi's park. Got off at the nearest stop and realised that the park was up a mountain (at least a very big hill). Wasn't impressed but soldiered on and made it with the help of a couple of escalators and the ipod. Well worth the effort, came in a side entrance so wandered around the park for a bit before heading to the monument park. This had the famous bits, the wavy mosaic seat, mosaic lizard and all supported with columns. Love his style of art, so unique and alternative. Massively overcrowded with people tho so didn't spend too long as was getting stressful! Had a look at the houses, kinda like melted gingerbread houses and left for the metro. Long walk to this station but littered with touristy shops to keep me amused. Came back into town and went to the Ramblas. Feeling very cultured so ended up hitting the shops. Found all the favourites, some local and a Topshop... oh the joy! Cheaper than home as well! Enjoyed walking through some of the smaller streets and headed back to the hostel. Thought i'd just read my book for a bit but ended up falling asleep. Had arranged to meet the others at 8 so headed there with a couple of others from my room. Walked to the Placa Reial and La Ramblas and eventually found somewhere to eat. Meal not fab but did the job, all went in search of a bar and came across a flamenco bar. Went in and saw a half hour show. is incredible the talent that they possess. The band were taking their cue from the dancer, didn't know it was possible to move feet that fast! Really good to see. Left there and started faffing trying to find bar or club. Felt tired and saw us not really getting anywhere so jumped in a taxi back to hostel and went to bed.
