People noisy in my room this morning so my planned lie in didn't really work. Pickled about in my room and headed out about 10 30. Met for the bike tour at 11 30 after a little detour into the shops, (H&M is everywhere, paradise!) Yet another Mike's Bike Tour. met at the Marienplatz and had a brief history of the city, is named after the monks that founded it. Headed to the office to collect our bikes and headed off. First stop was the Hofbrauhaus, a beer garden/brewery then continued thru various other sights in Munich. Rubbed the three noses of the lions outside the Residenz for good luck and took a look in the 'Tina Turner' church (can't pronounce the real name!) Very different inside, all white and very detailed. Continued through the English Garden - huge park in the town that's designed like an English park surprisingly. Kept thinking I was in Uni Parks tho so a little confusing. Stopped for lunch at the Chinese beer garden - huge place. Apparently 5000 people are there at the weekends. glad I'm not serving all of them! Got some lunch and then headed on our way. Went through the nudist meadow (exactly what the name suggests) and arrived at the surfers wall. A permanent wave that can be surfed on, very cool, especially in Germany! Saw some more sights and got back to the office about 4. Headed off through town again and bought some essentials (seriously) and then some not so essentials i.e. Birkenstocks - so cheap here it's rude not to. Came back to the hostel about 6 30 and talked to room mates and used the internet. Got some dinner and had an early night, still haven't recovered from the pub crawl and all my activeness. legs still aching!
