Another great, beautiful day of riding, coupled with very high winds. Didn't see too many bikers on the road, although there were some heading east (?). Pretty uneventful day just riding to get to my destination in Great Falls, Montana and the rally! Rough patch of road construction, just like Alaska, pilot truck, mud, muck and gravel!
Arrived around 1300 hours and tried to find the rally location, but I had the wrong address, so I headed to the hotel to check-in early. Found rally site address so headed over to sign-in and collect my goodie bag. Karen Cox spotted me in the parking lot. She and Steve were dropping off her bike as her back tire was almost bald. She had a 1330 hours appointment at the Dunlop booth. I hung around with her and Steve most of the day and they introduced me to some of their rally friends, John and Lori from SOuth Carolina, and a few others. Saw Roger Pivonka, Tom Gehalo, and Jim Stevak from the Cleveland club.
Had a few beers in the beer hall. Got a little loopy. Stayed while a quick storm rolled through, just as Don and Sam Walker strode in, soaking wet in their rain gear. They had just arrived. I was exhausted, so rode back to the hotel for a nap. Went and had Mexican for dinner down the street. Crapped out pretty early.
