The last 2 days of our trip started when we headed South on the 101 towards Legoland. Driving.. Today was another driving day as we make our way down the coast towards our final destination. Legoland. We drove through some beautiful countryside. However missed the ocean rd as the GPS took us along Highway 101. All the crops need to be harvested here so it was interesting to see all the workers out in the fields harvesting the fruit and vegetables by hand. After about 5 hrs we arrived at Pismo Beach. Today we headed to "The Rock". Alcatraz was fantastic. We enjoyed the guided audio tour as we looked around this now desolate prison. Charlotte was fascinated. Seeing how the prisoners lived and how a few had tried to escape was so interesting. We then headed back on the ferry into San Fransisco and had a last look around. The kids enjoyed a play on the foreshore before we headed to the Rainforest Cafe for dinner.

We Love San Fransisco... After a quick breakfast and the men's Wimbledon final ( on TV ) we went and hired our bikes for the day. We rode along the foreshore past the piers and the Maritime Museum, over the hill and up onto the Golden Gate Bridge. Although slightly crowded it was a wonderful experience and one we wouldn't have wanted to miss. Today we left a sunny Yosemite to head to San Fransisco. On the way we stopped at a quaint little town Mariposa - the kids had ice cream for morning tea, while we had the best coffee we have had on this trip so far. The drive was the most scenic we have done to date. Driving into SF we got stuck in a bit of traffic and a 16 lane toll booth which added a bit of time but the wait was well worth it.
