Our last night in Yosemite, and we went to the Summerdale BBQ the hotel hosts in the grounds. It was fantastic and a wonderful way to end our Yosemite experience. BBQ, live music, archery, gold panning and horse shoes. The kids loved it. The food was amazing, we had to hold back from 2nd's of the apple pie. We ventured into Yosemite today to see the falls and do a hike. It did not disappoint regardless of the weather. Exiting the car the smell of the pines is fantastic. The sheer size of the rock faces were amazing. The falls beautiful with only a little water. You can only imagine what they are like when not in drought. It was a wonderful day.

Yesterday was out last day in Vegas. A morning at the outlets, swim in the pool and Pizza at Grimaldi's ended our wonderful Las Vegas stay. Today we left bright and early to start our 8 hr journey to Yosemite for the next leg of our trip. Chunky was awesome getting us here safely and it was well worth the drive. Today as the weather wasn't great we hired bikes and rode / hiked to a local waterfall. It was fantastic. The kids loved it and it was great to be out in amongst the the gigantic pines and the worlds largest pine cones. The scenery was beautiful. A real change of pace from our last 2 stops. We have had a very hot 2 days in Palm Springs. Driving into the desert was an eye opening experience. We drove past the San Gorgonia Pass Wind Farm which had over 4000 Windmills, they have the capacity to provide all of Palm Springs electricity needs.
