After a very late night we agreed to meet at 11am for a late breakfast. I was awoken however, again by a slightly paniced joadie, saying, 'Rose, its 11 oclock! We flew out of bed, managing to meet the others who had also overslept, and went for brunch at ihop. We were then dropped at Circus Circus where we went on the giant indoor roller coaster, flume, and watched a brief live circus act. Before we knew it it was time to head back to the hotel and get ready for out final meal out together. We ate at a delicious Mexican restaurant on the lower end of the Strip. We filled ourselves with corona, salsa, guacamole and enchelades and then headed to our evening show.
Three of us bought tickets for a show called 'Absynth' outside Ceasers Palace. And it was most definitely the best show we had ever seen. It was even better than Mary Poppins on broadway! It was held in an air conditioned marquee with a small stage in the middle and wooden chairs placed in circles around it. It was a small area which made the place much more personal and very quirky. It also meant we were not far from the stage and saw everything that went on. The show was an adult comedy incoorporating acrabatics, dancers, strippers, tightrope walkers and beautiful people. The comedy was incredibly rude but incredibly funny and me Joadie and Tara were literally in tears with aching sides from laughing so hard. There were some incredibly tallented acrobats and a roller scating couple who i swear cheated death spinning eachother around on the tiny stage. One guy climbed about 20 feet on a tower of wooden chairs and then did a hand stand on them. Two men did a tight rope walk with a third balancing on a bar that they were holding, and a woman did magnificant act hanging on ropes from the ceiling and quite literally danced in the air. The comedy act, a man and woman, then did a hilarious spoof dance wih drapes which should have been beautiful and graceful and they made it in to something similar to Dawn French's balerina sketch.
We left utterly satisfied that we got every penny's worth and went to meet the others at the Volcano, a fake volcano outside The Mirage which erupts in time to a drum beat. We popped over to The Venecian where we attempted another game of blackjack but it soon became apparent we were in a very different class of gambling. The guy we sat down with looked like we just handed him a dead baby, the dealer was funny about our ID's, and $25 was gone in 30 seconds of sitting down. Needless to say we made a quick get away and went back to our happy place ay Ceasers Palace where we did a few more slots, lost a bit more money and eventully headed back at 0230 in preparation for
Our 0800 departure to LA the following morning.
