Another warm and sunny day. The captain told us yesterday that we would be slowing down and speeding up. This was just ‘routine’. It was a bit odd to basically be drifting in the ocean and today’s picture is of the wakeless wake! Aurora is well known for propulsion problems (we missed out on Bora Bora in 2013 because of them). Cynical old me thinks that the extra day in Martinique is to try to fix them if there is a problem. I could be wrong, but in over 250 days cruising on board this ship, I’ve never known it to slow down and speed up like this.
The entertainment team planning is on top form today. In Horizon (the daily magazine not the restaurant), they have an 11:00 fruit & vegetable carving and cake icing demonstration listed in Carmen’s. At 11:15 there is the line dancing class listed. In Carmen’s! Should be interesting methinks.
Just before 11 we went down to Carmen’s where the normal dance class was on. In front of the entrance was a notice postponing the carving demo. It could have been announced it when the usual 10:00 entertainment broadcast was made.
The clocks went forward at 12:00 noon putting us 4 hours behind the UK.
If you read my blog from my South American cruise in 2015, you may remember they were posted daily. This years blogs are being posted much more sporadically. This is because P&O have changed their internet packages. Before, you could buy so many minutes and use them over as many days as you wished. This time around, you have to buy 24 continuous hours. So I’ve been taking advantage of free Wi-Fi in our various ports. After we leave Antigua, I’ll probably have to buy one if not two packages, but in the meantime I’ll wait to post this in Aruba or Bonaire.
The 21:30 quiz was a real mishmash of questions and we scored 24/30. Not bad as we didn’t answer two of them. The winners scored 28/30.
Only Phil and I did the Syndicate Quiz as the Hind’s and Barbara went to see the 22:30 Four Seasons tribute act in the theatre. We were joined by Mike and we scored 16/20. The tie-break winners scored 18.
