Arrived early. Sea Princess was moored ahead of us. This is a tender port and the journey is around 30 minutes.
We managed to get on a tender around 10:00. Akaroa is a small place and many people were using it to go to Christchurch about 80km away. It's on a bay that is surrounded by steep hills. Yvonne and Phil were going swimming with dolphins in the wild, so the four of us just wandered around. There are really only a couple of streets and they were full of quaint old buildings.
When we got to almost the end of the street, Barbara and Linda went to a craft fair while Rob and I went to the pub for a beer. We strolled back to the tender pier and were back on board by about 2:45.
Despite the Captain's warning from yesterday, the weather started cool and ended very warm.
Lost the tie break in the IQ. We also lost the SQ, but that's no surprise as we started on -1.
I missed the Captain's announcement tonight. Apparently there's a cyclone called Pamela heading our way, so after we leave Wellington, we'll be heading in a different direction than planned to try and avoid it or it's worst excesses.
