Today is Wednesday 18 March, remember that!
Yesterday I forgot to mention that it was the 4th anniversary of the death of Barbara's husband, Barry.
Another glorious start to the day. Breakfast. Mile. Then sat with Barbara and Rob on the Prom Deck. Temperature was about 30. Today was barbecue day, but for some reason there were no tables out by the Riviera Pool, so we ate in the Horizon and it was so hot. We would normally have eaten by the Crystal Pool, but the roof is still closed, it should be opened tomorrow in Pago Pago. As the roof is glass, it is stifling in there.
Amazingly, the men won today's BoS. Straight after that it was upstairs for deck quoits. Barbara lost in the first round (to Yvonne) and I lost in the second, so we went down for a cuppa. Suddenly all the players came downstairs. The bridge had just announced that it would rain in 5 minutes and 30 seconds later the heavens opened. It rained heavily for about 20 minutes. Because of that, the McMillan Cancer quoits I was due to play in was cancelled until the next sea day.
Lost the IQ by one point. Today they held a second crew talent show in two weeks. We never managed to see the last one and they're usually very good. This one was slightly different as it had been organised at very short notice (today was supposed to be a visit to Apia in Western Samoa) and they were raising funds for the Vanuatu relief effort. Anyone who donated £10 or more got a map of the route we took to avoid Cyclone Pam. The show was very good, including the Filipino guy who minces everywhere on the ship, who did a drag act.
