We arrived about half an hour late at 7:20, due to traffic and harbour authority request. We followed Sun Princess in, but she went under the Harbour Bridge to dock. We would normally berth at Circular Quay but Carnival Legend was already there, so we moored a couple of miles away with a stunning view of the city. Today's picture was taken from deck 14 at 8:15.
Linda had done her leg in again, so there were only five of us exploring Sydney. After a visit to the Apple shop, where I was able to update all my iPad apps, Barbara, Rob and I went to Darling Harbour. We ambled round there and also had lunch. Then we went to the Sydney Tower for the views. Then we strolled back to the ship with a couple of beer stops on the way. One of the beers we had was Bright Ale from Little Creatures Brewery, which I visited with Trish in Geelong a couple of days ago.
We got back on board around 15:45. Both our tender trips were on a very comfortable catamaran rather than the usual ships tenders.
The Sun Princess left about 17:00 and just after 18:30 the Legend slipped out of the dock and we replaced her. No quizzes for me today, as I went out for the evening.
Sydney is currently celebrating Mardi Gras and the big parade is tomorrow evening at 20:00. We leave at 18;00! We passed one bank with gaytm machines, which I loved and the city has lots of rainbow flags everywhere. There were fireworks by Darling Harbour, which I assume were for Mardi Gras.
This is my third visit to Sydney, not including airport layovers, and I've always enjoyed my visits.
