Oh my god.... Today was so steamy that when I walked out of my room with my phone it fogged up!! I also had the same problem with my camera lense!!
So Joyce and I set off on our island adventure!! We started with banana pancakes at this beautiful organic cafe in town. Very yummy!! Bananas seem to be the main dish on Roatan, I guess that's why they called it the banana republic!!!
We then caught the, and I use this term very loosely a water taxi (it was actually more like a water canoe) to the west end of the island. That part of the island was so commercialised....it wasn't my cup of tea!!! We walked the length of the beach and then caught a water canoe back to where we are staying (West Point) which is way cooler!!
So West Point has a main street which is lined on one side with shacks made into restaurants, bars and shops, and the other side with prime Carribean ocean!! It is such a cool place to visit, and I'm so glad we are staying at this part of the island, not hotel alley!!!
After we returned to West Point, we walked back to the hotel, where I promptly made my way to the pool. Now this was a pool with a view....it faced onto the Caribean ocean!! That's where I spent my afternoon!! Simply just floating around the pool enjoying life and relaxing!!! I would have tried swimming in the ocean, however the volcanic rock which lined the beach did nothing to encourage me to do so!! All I need is to cut my foot open.... That would make the rest of my trip so uncomfortable!!!
Some of the group met up and had a chat about Honduras, which is always good to know about how life is for those that live here!!
This was closely followed by sunset drinks at the local beach front bar, the sundowner!! $4 massive cocktails.... Yep life is good right now!! Great drinks, with super company, it made for a great night!!! After a few drinks we all made our way to the cannibal bar, which is a Mexican restaurant!! It was such massive serves of yummy Mexican food!!
A few of us then hit a couple of the bars, although I must admit that the karaoke left a lot to be desired!! More than happy to call it a night when the bar closed!!
