The countdown has now started in ernest, less than a month before we are leaving our home and family again. On March 30th we are flying to Los Angeles via Brisbane, we will then get an internal flight to St Louis to see our friend and be reunited with our bike once again. We have already booked the bike in at Gateway BMW to have some work done to it and then we will be off and heading south to hopefully find some warm weather, it has been bitterly cold in St Louis.
As before our pending departure brings mixed emotions, there is always so much to do and so much we want to do before we leave home, but the call of the road is still very strong and as I think I have said before, if you sit waiting for the right time to go, you will never go. Fortunately we have a great team of people and family looking after our interests while we are away.
We have done just about everything we can in preparation for our continuation, as I said we have the bike booked in for some work, we have bought some new riding shorts, a new mattress, and some spares for our helmet camera and had them sent to our friend in St Louis. Over here we have bought a couple of new helmets and Julie a new jacket, thank you to Auto Classic for helping with these items. We have also arranged insurance for the bike, our visas and booked our flights, all things being equal we are fairly well set. We have also found shipping that can take the bike from Los Angeles to Auckland New Zealand, this is planned to happen at the end of September when we have to leave the US, we can only get a six month visa. So this year we hope that we can visit Florida before making our way west across the bottom of America to Las Vegas before turning north and following the Rockies into Canada and then making our way to Alaska, we then hope to head down the west coast all the way to San Diego, we may even venture down to Baja if we have time, six months we go by too quickly we are sure. From America we will head to New Zealand where we hope to spend a couple of months and our daughter and son-in-law hope to bring our granddaughter with them to spend Christmas with us. It is all very exciting and we hope that this year we are able to travel with a bit more ease and less worry. To all our readers, we would like to ask that you write a comment or message so that we know you are reading and that our writings are being read.

Mark the Adventure continues! I still have to get caught up
Kerry Have just discovered your blog after reading Ride On. I have a bit to catch up on. Counting down our own adventure but it seems very boring compared to yours! Townsville to Alice springs via the GOR. A few ks out of the way but can hardly wait. Safe travels.
Mum/Marion Good to read your blog again. All the preparation ! ... looking at my watch I estimate you will be in the air right now, half way to L..A. Lots of sorting out to do on arrival, but no doubt you are keen to be out on the road again, fancy free. Love you xxxxx
Trish Bensley and Dave Carroll. Loved reading your travel article in Riding On, you are both truly amazing Mighty Intrepids! We will be following you again on your blog. Dave and I have just finished a 3 week trip up to Coral Bay WA and back again, this time by car, we are such wimps! But we took the tent in our motorbike trailer behind the car. Nothing amazing like you two. Travel safe you Lovebirds! Trish and Dave.
Jan McIntyre Oh, rest assured, I am reading you with great interest! Some are perhaps shy or lacking confidence in putting a word in 'print'. I can understand not wanting to write into a vacuum. Thanks for laying out your plan so simply. Hey! I just found your video of riding to and through Lee. Perfectly captures that wonderful experience of the small English village hedgerows etc.
Mark Got your photos of Lynn's place and your Dragon decals on the bike. I hope you have a great ride on the Tail of the Dragon!
Alberto very cool adventure, let me know if you make it to south florida
Greg Turp Just found your blog from a post from Two Wheels of Suches. I'm in Southern California right now and will be watching your North American trip. It's similar to mine last year. Maybe see you when you hit the west coast. Ride safe.
Glenys Hope all going well for both, don't come back with a different accent after so long in U.S.A. Thinking of you both stay safe. We leave 26 th May. Will keep in touch.
Denise Granger The amazing two are off again. You seem to be having fun already. Sounds amazing!. Take care from Denise & co.
