Is is great to be in a country that has a slower pace! We didn't get far into Finland before we stopped for the night. We stopped in a place called Hamina, we only stopped for one night and stayed for three! We stayed in a caravan park with a beach on the Gulf of Finland and the water was good enough to swim in, not too cold. From there we went to Helsinki and stayed there for another three nights. We did some sight seeing and went for another dip in the waters. The thing that has struck us the most about Finland is how relaxed and friendly the people are, a lady over heard us talking in the supermarket and she came over to see if she could be of any help, fortunately a lot of people here speak English and we are finding it a lot easier than we have anywhere else, though we still can't read the writing! The roads too have been great, even the dirt roads are better than some of the highways we have been on. We have left Helsinki now and are heading North to Norway and Nordkapp, we hope to be there early in August. We never realised how many lakes there are in Finland and how nice they are to swim in. We stayed in another caravan park last night and the lake was so inviting that we joined all the others swimming. Who would have thought we would be swimming in Finland?! We passed into the Arctic circle today and we both became very excited when we saw our first reindeer on the road, but after a while and seeing so many of them the novelty soon wore off.
