Santa Barbara is by far one of my fav cities in the fine state of California. Its beautiful and has a great friendly vibe to it. The people are all so friendly too and so proud of their community and it really is a big community. There is a university here and we arrived the day after one of their biggest nights of the year (typical!!!).

I met Rach from Perth on the Contiki website she is also going on my tour and she had a few days to spare before Contiki too so we decided to do some traveling together.
Staying "so far out of town" our taxi driver said when taking us form the bus station to the hotel. Needless to say the guy was huge and i think our definition of so far out of town is different to his. Sure it was a bit of a walk 3.3 miles but a lovely walk into town at that. We just kept walking an walking i have never been so tired in my life we were in bed by 5pm haha may have had something to do with the fact we also embraced happy hour and had a few cocktails......
We were not blessed with the best weather on the first few days, i was freezing cold actually! We went to the mission which was originated in the lat 1700's and also went to the court hours. All beautiful buildings and lots of bright colours and cactuses.
We did some wine tasting and it wasn't that great and we had to pay for it!! Only in America right! We are spoilt for wines in Oz thats for sure!
Hired some sweet beach cruiser bikes and rode the coast bike path. Almost had a crash as i forgot it was a back pedal break, right into oncoming traffic, needless to say here pedestrians and bike riders have right of way and all the drivers saw the crazy aussie coming haha
Totally took advantage of the happy hours at all the bars and restaurants and embraced the mexican food in preparation for my trip to Cancun tomorrow :) So freaking excited!!!!!
Figured out im also in Cancun for a huge festival called Cinco De Mayo. I am going to be in Heaven Mexican food, and margaritas flowing, i think i may just move there and live happily ever after! haha
Anyways better go get on my bus back to LA for the night am so excited about Cancun i think i may pee my pants!!! I cannot wait to see Tanya too, its been almost 2 months haha
