Messika on Tour
Hola Pappie and Chickas
I was so god dam excited to go to Mexico for the food, culture and pure beauty of the country. Most people are sceptical about traveling there because of the "dangers" and the "corrupt Police" but i can say that i had no problems at all and felt extremely safe walking around cancun. The start of this awesome holiday was a bit of a crazy stressful time. Tanya was flying out of Perth WA on the 3rd of May at 12:30am but she got her times mixed up and thought it meant the 4th at that time... So as she missed her flight from Oz she missed her flight from LA with me to Cancun. I flew in on my own and got taken to the hotel. Our hotel was an all inclusive hotel with an ocean view room :) As soon as i arrived at the hotel it was dark so i headed down to the bar to meet a few people. The two girls i was sitting next too happened to be from Sydney. Tamara and Aimee were so much fun and we had planned to all head out the next night. Turns out the were staying right next to us too. As i had a day to myself in Cancun what better way to spend it laying round on the beach sipping cocktails in paradise. It sure was so relaxing and i honestly could easily live there. Tanya finally arrive and we went out in Cancun with the girls and our hotel entertainer and some brazilians staying at our hotel. We had VIP treatment at the club we went too and our own waiters and all we can drink. Literally all we can drink and man they sure know how to party!!!! We had an awesome night there and were extremely hungover when we woke up at 2pm the next day! Spent the rest of the day lazing by the beach recovering. We had a quiet night that night as the next day we were off to Chichen Itza which is the mayan Ruins close to Cancun. OMG whats a breath taking area. The Mayan culture is so fascinating and their pyramids were constructed only using the man power they rolled the stones up to the pyramids they constructed. They also did everything in symmetrical symbols to the Mayan calendar year everything leads back to that. Also every century or so they would demolish the buildings and build a new one over it!! Our guide was very knowledgeable and grew up there. We then were taken to a sink hole that was spectacular. We climbed down the dark steps to this beautiful paradise. We jumped off the platforms into the fresh water. The water was the most pristine water i have ever swam in. The best part about the tour was getting back on the bus each time and being handed a Corona! We had dinner that night with Tamara and Aimee in the hotel and we had a few last drinks together by the pool bar too as it was our last night. Defiantly not long enough in Cancun and i need to go back and visit Central America properly!!! Next stop LA for the start of Contiki :)- comments
