Mel and Stu missing you
We drew up in Sarnia just after six. Our party was to split between two very kind hosts for the next week. First we visited a beautiful apartment at the neck of the Huron Lake. We took a stoll on the beach before having a very nice meal. From here we went along the shore about 15 miles to the "cottage" where we were to stay. Needless to say we were stunned by it, in size it is much larger than a cottage and its location, with steps and decking running right down to the white sands of a private beach of the lake - which is a Great Lake, so about three times as wide as the Channel! We had cold beers and cocktails from their bar on the lakeside and then had a midnight swim in the moonlight.
The two of us have got use of a little cabin slightly away from the main building, which is very nice but no running water due to a problem with the piping. But with the freshwater lake to go in whenever we want, and Canada being in a heatwave (it was 37 degrees out yesterday) there's no difficulty staying clean!
Today we have spent again on the lakeside, Mel found an inflatable crocodile which kept us entertained. Tonight we plan on a bbq with "pickerals" caught from the lake.
Lots of love,
Stu and Mel
P.s.
Mel is very excited first off because there are fireflies here and secondly because they sell juice concentrated in tins that makes a jug of juice!
p.s.s. stu is excited because you can see the milkyway here!
