And we're off!
At about 4:00 am yesterday morning, Meghan and I, along with Meghan's boyfriend and a couple other friends set off on our road trip to Minneapolis. It was cheaper for us to fly out of the Minneapolis airport than from Winnipeg, so we decided a road trip would be fun! Also, we figured we would get some shopping in, so we left early enough that we could stop in Albertville at the outlet stores.
So we drove and drove, and drove some more, with a few pitstops along the way. At the border, the customs agent read Geordan's name wrong, so first he asked who was Greg, then read it wrong again and thought it was George, and finally got it right at Geordan. Poor Geordan ended up being called Greg for a good part of the day after that - he was not too impressed but it amused us!
We went to the Mall of America for a while and had dinner and wandered around for a bit. Meghan, Brendan, Geordan and I went on a sort of rope obstacle course that they had in the rides area. It was pretty sweet and we had tons of fun while Lindsay watched her "children" from the side. And in the evening we just relaxed in the hotel.
Now Meghan and I are sitting in the airport waiting for out flight to.. Wait for it.. Toronto! Yes, we did drive eight hours only to catch a flight back to Canada. And from Toronto we fly to Iceland tonight! Can't wait! This time tomorrow we will be chillin' in Iceland. And when I say chillin', I mean we will be chilled. Iceland is not a cold country as many people think, but it's still cool there this time of year. Although Minneapolis has not been the nicest yesterday or today, so I guess we will be prepared for Iceland's weather!
So it's off to Iceland for us! I can't wait to see the country again and some of my friends that I made on my exchange last year.
I am also really looking forward to having some of the foods again, like skyr. Mmm! (Skyr is like yogurt.) And the partying in Reykjavik!! Those Icelanders know how to party and I miss the craziness there on weekends.
Anyways, I'm going to sign off for now.
