Went on a big walking tour of Cannes today. First along the beach and dipped my toes in the Mediterranean which was surprisingly warm. Then past the luxurious marina and casino to the Palais which is where the Cannes Film Festival is held - had fun taking photos on the red carpet and with the stars hands and cardboard cutouts. Lots more walking and shopping, and a quiet night in. Off to Italy for a week tomorrow - can't believe we left Australia 2 weeks ago! T...

Another long drive today from Barcelona to Cannes. Stopped in Arles for lunch which was the inspiration for Van Gogh and Bizet's L'Arlesienne suite. Our hotel in Cannes has beach views so looking forward to getting out and about tomorrow. Left Bordeaux this morning and spent a few hours at Biarritz, lunching at the casino and dipping our toes into the Atlantic Ocean! Then on to Lourdes for dinner and the night procession which was amazing - I have never seen so many wheelchairs, beggars and religious iconography all in one area! Said Au Revoir to Paris today which was sad but that just means I'll have to come back again! Travelled through Loire Valley today which was very pretty then dinner in Bordeaux tonight. A beautiful day in Paris with lovely Autumn weather! Went to Notre Dame, a long walk around the Latin Quarter, and then to Eiffel Tower.
