Big day of sightseeing today on London Hop On Hop Off bus tour. So lucky that we had fine weather all day - it started raining about 15 minutes after we got back to the hotel! 4 countries today - left The Netherlands this morning, travelled by bus through Belgium, then caught ferry from France and bus on other side to London! Our hotel here is amazing - the bathroom is bigger than the whole hotel room in Paris. A hot bath, face mask and herbal tea tonight was exactly what I needed after almost a month of travel! Started the day with a trip to nearby Volendam, a very pretty seaside village, where we got to see windmills, cheese making and clog making. Then back to Amsterdam for a visit to a diamond centre (no free samples unfortunately) then more sightseeing around the town. I actually found it to be a bit dirty, so I don't think I'd be in a rush to come back, but I am glad I've seen it. Happy 50th birthday to me! Started the day with a Rhine Cruise - unfortunately it was very foggy but still a relaxing way to spend the morning. Then travelled to Amsterdam - quick look around the red light district this afternoon, and more sightseeing tomorrow. Tomorrow is the last official day of our tour - about half the group is leaving us in Amsterdam, the rest of us drive to Calais via Belgium then back over the ferry to London. Late entry as no wifi last night! Left Giswil, had morning tea at the spectacular Rheinfalls and lunch in the Black Forest. Stopped in Heidelberg for the afternoon then Frankfurt for dinner at our hotel. After a cruise of the Rhine we are off to Amsterdam - so it was a whirlwind tour of Germany!
