At 10pm 12/04 we got on an overnight bus to Hue. The bus journey was memorable but not in a good way. Meg was squashed up against the wall by a big german girl who then proceeded to try and spoon Met during the night...i think he liked it really!

We arrived in Hue and were bombarded with touts trying to give us motorbike rides. Luckily the bus droped up near our hotel.

We spent the first day looking around the historic ruins of the city including a royal palace (which was in tact) and ruins of the forbidden purple city (another place for royals to retreat to). It was really nice as it wasnt too built up and touristy. It was so hot! By lunch time we were wiped out and came back to the hotel for a mid day nap.

The next day (14/04) we decided to leave the city and head to the coast. It was really good as we went through some really rural villages .. everyone seemed friendly. We stopped a few times to to sit in local cafes...they would look at us and our pink faces and laugh. We were all wearing factor 50 and reapplying regularly and still got really burnt - we didnt even sunbathe. We have to decided to stay in the shade tomorrow!

15/04 we are moving on again to a place called Hoi an. Quite near to the coast again. Hoping this bus journey (only 3 hours) will not include german spooning.
