After leaving Kep we spent the whole day on a bus which was a bit crazy. The buses just drive as fast as they can (probably reach 50 mph at times) but when there is veicles coming in the other direction and only room for the width of one it gets a bit mental. The other things to avoid is the bloody Yaks (or really skinny cows). They just wander across the road so the driver did about 10 emergency stops along the way.
After arriving in Siem Reap we decided after a few budget hotels ($5 a night for 3 of us) we would splash out on a decent hotel. The room actually has a window and hot water! A luxury out here. It also has the smallest pool ever - more like a Jacuzzi size.
Today we have been to Angkor Wat. I'm sure all you guys reading this will have heard of it (if you haven't shame on you - hehe) They claim its the biggest religious building in the world and they could be right - its pretty big. Those film buffs out there may know that the Tomb Raider films were filmed there.
To summerise they are the best tourist attraction in Cambodia and are just so immense in there size and construction that it puts our Cathedrals and churches to shame. We got up at 4.30 to watch the sunrise which was well worth it - mainly because there was hardly anyone there. It soon got pretty busy so we spent the next couple hours wandering each of the different temples. Make sure you look at the photos!
Off out for a Mexican tonight - it will be nice to have something different to rice.
