Biking in Durango
A beautiful day in Durango...after such cold days, it got to 70F today!. So we decided that we needed to try out our bike legs. There was a wonderful bike track right next to the Animas river and went along most of the same path that we went white water rafting. Sparky decided that he wanted to come out of the back pack and see some of the path - he enjoyed it but it was a bit bumpy!!!
Emma was also trying out her new mountain bike and she made it up and down hills very well. Jonah led the way and we had to work hard to keep up with him. We crossed over the river about 4 times and saw the white water rapids that were the most exciting around Smelter Mountain. In all we rode about 5-6 miles along the river and deserved a well earned ice cream when we finished. This was our last day in Durango which is a bit sad after we have been here 5 days. Already we can see the snow melting on the mountains.
A great relaxing day - tomorrow we drive to Grand Junction through the mountains again - so we get to see Silverton and Ouray again. In Grand Junction we are looking forward to seeing the Dinosaur Museum. Unfortunately we cannot go on any dino digs as they only start in June. Jonah and Christian would have loved it.
God Bless, Anne
