Hello Mickey!
Well, this is the second time I am writing about Disneyland as the first one got lost somehow in the blog site! As you can see from the picture we got to meet my lifelong dream friend ... Mickey Mouse! I was so excited .... I think I embarrassed the kids .... I even gave him a big kiss on the nose. How can I try to explain a wonderful unreal day.
It began and ended with extreme excitement. As soon as we got there we bee-lined it for the Princess land where after waiting for a short time Emma got to see her dream come true - the smile on her face just could not be extinguished - she met and talked to Princess Belle, Princess Tiana (from the Princess and the frog), and princess Ariel .... she got photos and autographs as well she saw the fairy godmother. We then headed to toon town - riding on Roger Rabbits spin car ride ... heaps of fun! We saw Goofy, Pluto, Minnie Mouse and Mickey mouse getting autographs and photos. Wow, such excitement!!!!
Then onward to other rides and fun times: It's a small world ride, Storybook boat ride, Autopia - where you got to drive you own car .... Jonah and Christian did well, Emma needs her L's for longer! Went on a finding Nemo submarine ride, and saw the Star Wars Jedi Training Show - Jonah and Christian were transfixed when up out of the floor came Darth Vader. It was a great show!
We also got to see the house of the future in Innoventions and went on the simulated Star Tour ride - rather incredible. We also rode on Thunder Mountain a train ride through a wild west mountain .... bit hair raising! In the meantime we kept seeing characters and the atmoshere was so happy and fun - we went through Tarzan's tree house and on the River cruise. The two most scary rides as far as Emma was concerned was Space Mountain a huge roller coaster dipping and turning in a black mountain with just stars and then the Indiana Jones ride where a huge boulder came straight for us and the roller coaster dipped under it just in time. We also went on a ride all around the park on a train just to see the lay out of it.
A huge highlight though was the Grand Parade where we saw all the characters: Pluto, Mickey, Minnie, Pooh bear, Tigger, Miss Piggy, Kermit, Goofy, Donald Duck and Daisy, Chip and Dale, Peter Pan and Wendy, Woody from Toy story, Hairy from Sesame street - they were all there! As well there were dancers and the streets were full of people. Confetti and balloons were everywhere. We stayed for the fireworks at 9:30pm - they were also incredible with the fireworks set off to music and story and to top it off Tinkerbell flew over Cinderella's castle with sparkly fireworks everywhere. Sparky the puppet was rather exhausted so couldn't make Disneyland - maybe he'll get there next week - wehave 3 days!
Well, that's about all - we got back to our RV park exhausted but happy around 10:30pm. What an amazing day God blessed us with!!!!! love, Anne
