Last night we went to Serendipity beach for dinner. The beach is lined with bars/restaurants that serve you on comfy seats on the shoreline. We picked one that had a suitable happy hour and enjoyed two Bahama Mamas, some beers, chicken noodles and a coconut curry. On Serendipity you get lots of sellers. One boy, Rut, 12 years old, sat chatting to us for a while (mostly about football with Max - Rut supports Rangers and reminds us a lot of Steph's brother Frankie). He seemed sleepy and when we asked, he'd been at school all day long then come to the beach to sell. He'd been there for a few hours and hadn't sold anything. So we bought a Chinese lantern, and Rut helped us light it and send it on its way across the sea.
We've had an ultra lazy day today. As we only had Footprints booked for two nights and it was a bit pricier, we decided to check in to Sam's bungalows on the beach next door ($10 per night). It's very basic, but you step out of our hut on to the sand.
Whilst we were in the sea mucking around with the Waboba ball, a school of small fish all leapt out of the sea behind Max. It was literally like the scene in Life of Pi when the fish hit him on the boat, but they were a bit smaller. It happened a few more times after - crazy fish!
There are Cambodian ladies walking along the beach offering manicures, pedicures, threading and massages for 'cheap cheap'. Max had a back massage while Steph had a manicure. Living the dream.
Tomorrow morning we're heading on a boat to Koh Rong Samloem with some snorkelling and lunch booked on the way. It's a very remote island, all electricity cuts off every night at around 10p.m. So we doubt we'll have any wifi while there. We've got an open return boat ticket so we can come back to Sihanoukville whenever but we'll definitely be back by 22nd December.
Thank you for all of your messages and comments, we have been reading them and they mean a lot! Missing everyone from home.
Blog/speak again on the 22nd if not sooner!

Sam Nicholas Sounds awesome living on the beach front. Tans look like they are coming along well! I'm excited about the snorkelling, I have a feeling that will be amazing for you, if the fish are throwing themselves at you out of the water I look forward to seeing what you find when looking around inside it.
