Mary's Travels
Claire got up early again today so I woke up to a wonderful breakfast of pain au chocolat and hot chocolate. Then we went to windsurfing classes where things were much better than yesterday. We paddled around for the first hour, but when the wind picked up, we put on the sails and headed out of the bay. There were much fewer jellyfish today- I was more focused than scared this time. I got the hang of it, and was even in front of the pack half the time. I made it back and forth the length of the bay without falling. Yes I tried it more times and fell, but at least I can say I did it. We dried off on the beach when class was over, then headed up for a lunch of smoked ham, melon, and sausage. We were going to go to Spain, but my passport was safe and sound in Sermaise- so safe that I couldn't get to it.... So Claire and I stayed in Collioure while Jean went on. Something I'll regret for a long long time. With our free time, Claire and I went on a promenade, and then I ended up buying us crêpes to try to relieve my depression from leaving my passport. Even though we were eating crêpes on the beach in the south of France, my mood only slightly lightened up. We went back and watched TV to pass time until the tourist train came around. We jammed to some music which made me feel a lot better, and then we left for the train. Le petit train took us around the mountains between Collioure and the neighboring city, and we got the most amazing views. We stopped at the castle on the top of a hill and could see all around. My mood got better. Afterwards we chilled at home until dinner time. We went out to a crêperie, and I got a spinach, ham, cheese, and egg crêpe, and for dessert I got an apple, caramel, and ice cream crêpe. Both were amazing, but Claire and I felt huge afterwards so we took a little walk around town. We admired the sunset and looked around some shops. On our way home, we ran into Claire's friends but we couldn't stay for long because we didn't want to be tired for our last day of windsurfing classes tomorrow. So, we went back home and got to bed early.
