We are off the ferry at 08:10 and drive to the Aire au Laber in Roscoff to rearrange the van and fit the buggy rack. Driving out through St Pol, Brittany is familiar as ever; artichoke fields, onions, new potatoes and small vegetable plots growing right up to the roadside.
We take the 'Route Touristique' to Goulven, a very old town with stone buildings, and then onto Brignonan plages [beaches]. Again it is typical Brittany; wide flat estuaries where the sea goes out for ever, but as the tide rises emerald water crashes over the black reefs. A tractor pulls a line of 12 dinghies across the sand followed by the group of sailors in their wet suits.
We reach Annick's house in Penfeld at 14:50. After much manoeuvring in the driveway we are safely parked and levelled. In the evening we go into Brest to the Blue Lotus Chinese buffet. We return at 21:30 and are in bed soon after 22:00
