The wind and rain last night has eased by the time we finish breakfast. At 10:45 we leave in Annick's car to go to the hotel de ville [town hall] in Guilers where Ali's godson, Elijah, is to be baptised. Outside we meet family members, many of whom we know. We are off the ferry at 08:10 and drive to the Aire au Laber in Roscoff to rearrange the van and fit the buggy rack. Driving out through St Pol, Brittany is familiar as ever; artichoke fields, onions, new potatoes and small vegetable plots growing right up to the roadside.
